Our camping season runs from May through October. All Reservations are able to be made online well in advanced and even have the option of locking your spot. Camp hay rides

The best way to spend a day at the camp is by taking one of our hay wagons for a scenic ride through fields and pastures. You can also take your pet animals on a leash along with you as we have plenty of open space for them to enjoy! There are plenty activities planned throughout summer months including swimming and tubing in the river or relaxing on the sandy beaches; fishing offsite on the Swift River. We also have a fully-equipped children’s playground featuring pirate ship , 9 hole mini golf course. We also have bands throughout the summer for all to enjoy.

Under new ownership

Tamworth Campground was purchased in October of 2022 by Modern America Campgrounds. Tamworth Campground is a place where friends and families can set up camp, relax, float the river, hike and fish. Modern America intends to expand the park and improve the existing facilities as needed.


Modern America Campgrounds is based in Boston, MA and is the largest independent owner of Campgrounds in New England.

on site Trailer Rentals

For the first-time camper or those who do not have their own equipment, we offer several trailers available for on-site rental from mid-May through Columbus Day. Our larger trailers (over 29′) are set up on permanent sites and include hot water, showers and cable TV. A smaller trailer may be set up on the site of your choice, including some waterfront sites. However, use of showers in smaller trailers requires set up on a sewer site.


All of our rental trailers have air conditioning, coffee makers, awnings, picnic tables, fireplaces, and charcoal BBQs. Trailers come well-equipped with utensils, plates, cups and/or mugs for four. Limited cookware is available. Please be sure to bring your own linen and bedding, including pillows, and your own outdoor cooking equipment. Each site has a fire ring with grate and a picnic table. All trailers have queen beds in the master bedroom area. All trailers are cleaned with a disinfectant after each customer checks out.


A $100 security deposit is required for all trailer rentals. Full payment of the rental fee is required before arrival. All prices listed below include the site price and all utilities. Rental unit tax is added upon reservation. The $100 security deposit may be paid by separate check or credit card upon arrival. This deposit will be returned when you leave, provided there has been no misuse or damage to the trailer or equipment.

Group Camping

Reserve early for your group reservations. Tamworth Camping Area welcomes tent and/or trailer camping for organized groups of adults or supervised groups of children or youth under 18. We can accommodate organized groups varying in size from 10 individuals to large trailer clubs or camping groups. Our on-site amenities make Tamworth Camping Area the perfect spot for your daytime or overnight camping group gathering. These include our country store, nine hole mini golf, and fishing & swimming on the Swift River. Examples of groups eligible for group rates include trailer clubs, Boy Scouts, a city or company softball team, church groups, etc. Reservation request on the organization’s letterhead is required. Discounts apply to the two group areas described below. Please Note: A minimum of 10 families is required for group discounts on Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day weekends. Payment in advance for all 3 nights is required on these weekends.
